Small Things About Life You Should Know

It does not matter when you start or how much time has passed, what you used to do or how you got to where you are, who you are, or who you were before; all that matters is what you choose to do right now.

There are probably thousands, if not millions of people that used to be someone with a name that was recognized and just as many that used to be no one at all that changed it all around.

Some did this in their teens, others in their 20s, some in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and some even later than that.

Some of them were jerks and bullies, while others used to work dead-end jobs cleaning toilets or trying to sell dishwashers.

Some used to love who they were and hate who they are now, and others hated who they were and love who they are now.

People and lives change all the time for no apparent reason at all.

It’s just that the person decided, from one moment to the next, to be someone else or do something new.

From one decision to the next they transformed everything for the better or the worse and it did not matter one bit who they were before.

I want you to really take that in and think about what that means.

"It means that no matter where you are in life, no matter how many mistakes you’ve made, how often you’ve failed, or how much you hate who you’ve become, you can still change everything."

All it takes is one decision after another, one action after another, to change it all around bit by bit.

Think about it maybe not in terms of life in general, as that is quite a large picture to analyze, but maybe rather one day at a time.

Most of us think that once the day starts it either goes well or it doesn’t. Few of us consider the possibility of having a reset in the middle of the day or making the day the best we can make it even if the beginning sucked.

If we did not get up on time, did not do our morning routine perfectly, and failed to do some of the things we set out to do the evening before, then it is all over.

But the truth is that this is simply a boundary we set for no reason!

You can go jogging at 4 p.m., 5 a.m. or at any time in the day. Nothing is stopping you!

The same thing is true for the work you do that day, the other habits you have, and everything you’ve set out to do.

Just because a day did not go perfectly does not mean it is over by lunchtime.

It just means you have to reset and figure out what you will do with the rest of it going forward; Just as with life itself!

New Year’s Resolutions and normal weeks are a great example of this where people quit once they failed once and do not start again until the New Year or Monday of the following week.

What if, instead of waiting for a new year or a new week to start, you simply reset your progress as soon as you could?

What if you realized that you failed your New Year’s Resolution for a month already and then simply restarted?

Sure, it would not be perfect, but you would end up with way more hits than misses than most everybody else!

"Stop giving yourself these arbitrary, meaningless time gates."

Who cares if you weren’t perfect?

Who cares if you did not do everything you wanted to up until now?

Who cares what things you missed or where you could have been by now?

None of that matters anymore!

"Because, for better or for worse, you are where you are right now and nothing will change that. You are here. At this moment this is where you are and who you are. Period."

But the next moment is still open!

Nothing is set in stone yet and nothing has to remain the same if you don’t want it to!

The next 5 minutes could be the perfect moment to change everything around forever.

It could be when you finally decide on who you want to be, and when you, in spite of every failure thus far, decide that you will do better moving forward.

Nothing is set yet.

The day is not over, the week is not done, the year has not come to an end yet and your life is not determined to stay this way forever just yet either.

But if you choose to let it be what it is if you choose to let the failures overtake and not do anything about life, then that is what you choose to do right now and that is what will happen.

However, you can also choose to not let life stagnate here, to make a move in a better direction, to work for at least one thing you want, and to move on to better things.

It all starts with a decision now and an action that follows it.

Build it up slowly, but surely, and you will be able to transform anything you want, whenever you want.

It does not matter when you start or how much time has passed, what you used to do or how you got to where you are, who you are, or who you were before; all that matters is what you choose to do right now.

Life is about hardship, and there's always a rainbow after a storm. Life is about adventure, and the unexamined life is not worth living. Either is life about hard-working or scarifying a thing to get something.

And look at where you are and how you got there and where you want to be.

Cheerio! *salute*
